Biography
Georgios Papanikolaou is an MPhil research student at the Engineering Design Centre, University of Cambridge. His work focuses on designing break-prompting systems that support workplace health without compromising perceived productivity, within the broader context of human–technology interaction and health-supportive design.
He has conducted usability studies with COPD patients on at-home vital sign monitoring and interviews with over 100 CORE20PLUS participants in public libraries on accessible digital health technologies.
Before Cambridge, Georgios spent seven years as co-founder of a health tech startup, developing patented surface-based photoplethysmography (PPG) sensing hardware. He now works with gas-sensing technologies for human health applications. He holds an MSc in Analog and Digital IC Design and a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
