Timos joined the Engineering Design Centre in October 2002 after obtaining a Diploma in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece. During his PhD in EDC, Timos focused on the Aerodynamic Design Optimisation of turbomachinery blades from multi-objective perspective. The Aerodynamic Design and the Optimisation was accomplished using detailed CFD codes, adaptive geometry representations and heuristic optimisation algorithms.

Timos is currently working on interactive multidimensional data visualisation and analysis using Parallel Coordinates and Visual Analytics to support the decision-making process of aerospace systems, such as aircraft, but also of socio-technical systems, such as healthcare.

Timos is a Fellow and Director of Studies at Homerton College, where he also teaches Part IA and IB Engineers in Structural Mechanics, Materials, Dimensional Analysis, and Thermofluid Mechanics. He is a Special Supervisor in Engineering at Newnham College, where he teaches PIB Thermofluid Mechanics. He is also a Bye-Fellow at Christ's College, where he teaches PIA Thermofluid Mechanics and PIB Materials.

He is a Senior Lecturer at Cranfield University, where he leads research initiatives and supervision of MSc, PhD and EngD projects in the Hybrid Electric Propulsion Group. 

Timos is currently working on the DIAS project with emphasis on Value Driven Design and Visual Analytics for Engineering Design, and on the DigiTwin project to explore how Digital Twin technologies can further enhance engineering design processes.

Demonstration of Change Propagation (CPM) simulations of aircraft architectures and their assessment according to Value Creation Strategies. The Value Assessment is performed by interactively visualising and analysing the multi-dimensional data in Parallel Coordinates within the Cambridge Advanced Modeller (CAM).
