Eugenia O’Kelly is a research student and member of the Healthcare Design Group supervised by Professor John Clarkson and Dr James Ward.  She specializes in the intersection of ergonomics and risk, as well as civilian face mask design.  She heads up the Respiratory Protection Engineering Task Force, which addresses critical questions regarding face mask protection in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before joining the EDC, she founded and ran a small, design consultancy company focused on creating surgical simulators and doctor/patient communication tools.

While at Stanford, Eugenia's undergraduate thesis focused on improving the quality and efficiency of non-photorealistic rendering pipelines in the entertainment industry, with a secondary focus on the efficiency vs adaptability of pipelines used by independent and institutional creators.
