Kaya Dreesbeimdiek is a research student and researcher at the Engineering Design Centre (EDC). She is a member of the Healthcare Design Group, and jointly supervised by Prof John Clarkson and Ajith Parlikad (Institute for Manufacturing). Her research focusses on resilience analysis of hospital systems.

Prior to starting her PhD, Kaya gained practical experience through internships in strategy consulting, industrial corporations and research, including the Boston Consulting Group, BMW India, Linde Group and the Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organisation at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. During the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kaya worked as Voluntary Process Engineer for the NHS Cambridge University Hospital Trust. She now supports clinical strategy projects at Addenbrooke's hospital.
