David Coates is a PhD student at the Engineering Design Centre.

David has extensive career lifetime experience in the engineering contracting business. Numerous previous appointments held at senior design and managerial positions. Most recent appointments have been in the nuclear industry. Previous roles include Commissioning Manager, Lead Engineer for process design, Site Manager for Construction, Project Engineer/ Design Co-ordination Manager, Operations Consultant and Project Manager (for contract values up to £70,000,000). David has an in depth knowledge and experience of all technical & project elements associated with the execution of a project from pricing through to the design construction, commissioning and operating stages of the project life. David has extensive experience in development of new and innovative nuclear technologies.

David Coates is currently studying for a PhD in nuclear reactor engineering at the Engineering Design Centre.
