M. L. Siriwardena B. Sc. (Quantity Surveying) Honours

Mohan Siriwardena is a researcher at the EPSRC funded Salford Centre for Research and Innovation (SCRI), University of Salford. He graduated with a first class honours degree in B. Sc. (Quantity Surveying) from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He worked as a lecturer in the Department of Building Economics, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He functioned as the first year course coordinator and the industrial placements coordinator, for the RICS accredited B. Sc. (Quantity Surveying) degree programme at the same university. Mohan was involved as a researcher in the SPICE 3 research project, which investigated the level III of the Structured Process Improvement of Construction Enterprises (SPICE) process maturity model. SPICE is based on the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) which was developed for the software industry. Mohan is also in the final stages of his PhD which is related to organisational learning in construction organisations . It is conducted within the Research Institute for the Built and Human Environment (BuHu), University of Salford. His research interests include IT in construction, process improvement, organisational learning, knowledge and information management, theory building & research methodology, cost planning and control of construction projects and procurement & contract management. In addition to his research and teaching experience, Mohan also possesses industry experience in quantity surveying. Mohan was the vice-president of the CIB Student Chapter at Salford University and is also an accredited CITB Construction Ambassador.
