Dr Llewellyn C M Tang is Research Associate in the Department of Civil and Engineering at Loughborough University working for the project ‘Grand Challenge’ - Immortal Information and Through-life Knowledge Management. He has researched in the decision science field since he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honors in Construction Engineering and Management from the City University of Hong Kong in 2002. He has done one-year MPhil in Construction Economics and Finance and transferred the degree to another two-year PhD in Knowledge and Innovation Management in construction. In particular it is about the support and evaluation of financial information to the construction firms by an integrated decision support system. In this period, he was Research Assistant in a number of research projects and Lecturer in Building Management courses (mainly in financial process modelling and decision management). His research interests are artificial intelligence, cash flow forecasting, computational decision support, operational research and information processing. He has submitted 11 journal and conference papers of which 8 have been published in his 3-year research study. He has obtained a number of scholarships and fellowships in 2001-2005 from the City University of Hong Kong, The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB HK and UK), The Australian Institute of Building (AIB), The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE Structural Division/IStructE HK Division) and Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund Council (SEYMFC). He has a closed linkage with the industry as a Committee Member and the Student Representative in the Building Division Committee of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) in 2000-2004. He is a member of the Sir Edward Youde Scholar Association where he has got fellowships since 2003-2005. He is also a member of the Hong Kong Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (HKSTAM).
