The Consortium
The i~design (Inclusive Design) project has benefited from two previous rounds of EPSRC funding since 2000 http://www-edc.eng.cam.ac.uk/idesign and is now entering its third 4 year phase having been selected under the last managed EQUAL.call.
The new consortium consists of
The University of Cambridge Engineering Design Centre (EDC) and
Cambridge Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Ageing (CIRCA);
The Royal College of Art (RCA), Helen Hamlyn Research Centre and
Loughborough University Ergonomics and Safety Research Institute (ESRI, formerly HUSAT).
In addition, the consortium includes:
The Design Council ; Centre for Inclusive Technology and Design [Scope, RNIB, RNID, Ricability, UK Institute for Inclusive Design,(UKiiD), Scientific Generics and Sprout Design]; The Design Business Association (DBA); The Royal Society for the Advancement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce (RSA); The College of Occupational Therapists (COT) ; and User-group collaborators [University of the Third Age (U3A), Help the Aged, Arthritis Care; the British Computer Association for the Blind; Chelsea Elders Contact Organisation; Different Stokes; Foundation for Assistive Technology; and the OpenAge Project].
