Deepak
(Former Member)
- M.Sc, Space Mission Analysis and Design, University of Glasgow, United Kingdom.
- B.Eng.(Hons), Computer Science and Engineering, Bharathiar University, India.
Deepak joined the Engineering Design Centre (EDC) in October 2007 after having worked as a research assistant in Singapore. His supervisor was Dr Geoffrey T. Parks. His PhD title is 'An Integrated System for the Conceptual Design of Space Systems'.
Deepak investigated three key areas within the preliminary design of complex systems domain that are often challenges in practice. First, formalisation of a methodology that brings overall 'System flexibility'. Second, demonstrating 'System optimisation' offers better performance measures in the preliminary designs by multi-objective optimisation algorithms. Third, addressing the 'System decomposition' issues through this integrated design approach, enabling better trade-offs between the competing performance measures to be identified.
This research was funded by the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust (CCT), and by an EPSRC grant.
