Third Year
In the third year students undertake two 80-hour projects in the four weeks after their examinations. Projects are offered under the following four headings: Design Projects, Computer-Based Projects, Fieldwork Projects and Foreign Language Projects. The majority of students selects projects from the first two groups. The distinction between Design Projects and Computer-Based Projects is not great. The aim of these projects is to provide students with the opportunity to work in more depth on the Embodiment Phase of the design process and to use advanced computer-based tools to analyse and to optimise given designs.
